Honest Food Farm Keremeos
🌱 Honest Food Farm is about as literal as farm-to-table gets.
Tucked down Becks Road amid the orchards and mountains of the Similkameen Valley, the little Farm Store and café belongs to Yuri and Brandie Zebroff, whose family roots in organic farming here stretch back more than 50 years. Yuri grew up farming in the valley and returned after university to raise his own family and continue the tradition, while Brandie, whom Yuri credits as an “incredibly good cook”, turned what they grow into another reason for people to seek out the farm. The café follows the harvest, serving simple, veggie-forward food, fresh coffee and gluten-free baking inspired by whatever is coming from the fields, while the store fills with the farm’s certified-organic fruit, vegetables and flowers. With celiac disease in the family, gluten-free food has also been part of the Farm Store’s story from the beginning. It’s peaceful, a little hidden and wonderfully connected to the land; the kind of place where you can eat food grown steps away, pick up a bouquet and a box of just-picked produce, and understand exactly why the Similkameen has earned its reputation as one of British Columbia’s great farming regions.
