Restaurants in Surrey

Surrey is one of BC’s biggest and most diverse cities, so the food scene is huge and spread out; you’ll find everything from quick, affordable takeout to family restaurants and newer, trendy spots.

Popular areas for eating include Newton, Guildford, Fleetwood, Whalley City Centre, South Surrey, and Cloverdale; each has its own mix of chains, local favourites, and international restaurants.

Surrey is especially known for its South Asian dining (with lots of Punjabi and Indian options), plus strong choices for Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Middle Eastern, and casual North American comfort food.

Because the city covers a large area, “nearby” matters more here than in smaller towns; driving time can change a lot depending on traffic and bridges, especially around King George Boulevard, Fraser Highway, and the Highway 1 corridor near Guildford.

Many restaurants are in plazas with easy parking, and there are lots of late-night and delivery-friendly options; the “open now” filter is extra useful here.

For visitors, it helps to know that Surrey has both busy urban hubs (City Centre) and quieter suburban pockets (South Surrey and parts of Cloverdale), so the vibe can range from quick-and-busy to relaxed and family-focused.

Overall, Surrey is a great place to explore if you like variety, big portions, and tons of choice across many cuisines and neighbourhoods.
